Christian Singles Austin
Welcome to the premier site for Christian singles in Austin. Congratulations on living in one of the largest state capitals in America. We wouldn’t expect anything less from Austin. It’s a cultural smorgasbord, packed full of diverse cultures, and just an all-around cool place to live. Being here and in Austin just shows that you love the good things in life–so why not learn a little bit more about them? The more you know, the better life gets.
Austin wasn’t always the main city in Texas, Originally it was Houston, but the Republic’s capital moved because Vice-President Mirabeau discovered the area on a hunting trip. The location was picked because the original town, Waterloo, not only looked good, it was surrounded by hills and waterways. Downtown was planned in a grid pattern that still exists today. Now the city is not only the governmental center, it has a large number of Fortune 500 companies, such as eBay, Google, and Whole Foods.
It’s no wonder that Mirabeau liked Waterloo, because the area is at the centerpoint of several different ecological regions. Austin now is like a hot oasis that plays the part of the desert and more humid, tropical environments. To protect the city against flooding, dams and man-made lakes gather runoff into lakes that are perfect for water recreation. From Austin you can head to any part of Texas, where parks provide biking and hiking trails.
If you live in Austin, you’re probably familiar with the phrase “Keep Austin Weird”. Austinites are known for their eclectic creativity, and the phrase was coined by Red Wassenich to encourage people to whop at small businesses. Though the idea began as a marketing campaign, now the slogan aims more for creating a creative hub that embraces all things “weird”, no matter how you define the word. Austin is packed with more live music venues than any other city in the world (or so they say). If you want to hear some great tunes before any music producers discover the bands, Austin is the place to be.
Living in Austin is a matter of knowing just what is the best. Such as Barton Springs on the hottest summer days, or The Oasis on Lake Travis for the view. You rarely miss a concert at Blues on the Green, because, let’s face it, even when you’re dying from the heat and you think the place is too crowded, it’s an amazing experience that shouldn’t be missed. And then there are the food trucks, where you can get just about anything you can imagine, and probably a lot more than that. Tex-Mex, barbecue, burgers, you name it, Austin has a spot for it.
All in all, Austin couldn’t be a better city to meet a few new friends and to have some fun. If you meet people from here, chances are that they’ll love the same things you do, from the food, to the weirdness, to trusting in God. So, if you're a Christian, single, and living in Austin, you've come to the right place to find others like you.
